Ahmed Elraai – Palestnian Activist, Humanitarian, and Researcher
Ahmed Elraai is a dedicated Palestinian activist, humanitarian aid worker, and academic with a lifelong commitment to defending human rights and advancing emergency and crisis management practices in conflict zones.
Born and raised in the Jabalia Refugee Camp in the Gaza Strip, Ahmed’s early education took place at an UNRWA school, where he developed a deep awareness of the struggles faced by displaced and marginalized communities. Determined to turn adversity into action, Ahmed pursued higher education with a strong focus on engineering and humanitarian systems.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from the Islamic University of Gaza, and later earned a Master’s degree in Robotics from MEF University in Turkey. Furthering his expertise in humanitarian response and conflict recovery, Ahmed also completed both Master’s and Ph.D. degrees in Crisis and Disaster Management from the Islamic University of Gaza.
Professionally, Ahmed has served as a humanitarian aid worker, consultant, and TV reporter for several international NGOs operating inside Gaza. His work has placed him at the heart of some of the most challenging humanitarian operations in the region, where he provided critical insights, logistical coordination, and advocacy for civilians under siege.
A prolific researcher, Ahmed has published numerous research papers and articles focusing on emergency management, conflict resolution, technology transfer, and international human rights law. His work is recognized for blending academic rigor with lived experience from one of the world’s most volatile conflict zones.
In 2025, Ahmed was forced to flee Gaza due to escalating conflict, and he now resides in Istanbul, Turkey, where he continues his mission to defend Palestinian human rights. From exile, he remains an active voice in the global struggle for justice, leveraging his experience, academic background, and platform to advocate for dignity, peace, and the rights of displaced communities
